RICHARD OSTERBUHR
Richard Ufert Osterbuhr, 67, died Tuesday (July 12, 1983) at his rural LeMars home after a 10-month illness. Services will be held at St. John's American Lutheran Church, LeMars, at 10 a.m. Saturday with Rev. Tom Lee officiating. Burial will be in Resthaven Memory Gardens, LeMars. Mauer-Johnson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Osterbuhr was born Feb. 18, 1916, at rural Brunsville to Gerd and Gerty (Dirks) Osterbuhr. He was a lifelong Plymouth County resident. He married Helen Phelan Oct. 26, 1941, at LeMars. He was a member of St. John's American Lutheran Church, Heeren-McHale-Wilken Post, Brunsville, and was an Iowa veteran of World War II.
Survivors are his wife, Helen, LeMars; three sons, Ashley of Lemoore, Calif., Douglas and Byron of LeMars; three daughters, Mrs. Richard (Linda) Becker of Las Vegas, Mrs. Paul (Sharon) Schroeder of LeMars, and Mrs. Gary (Terry) Kliever of Clarksville, Ark.; 24 grandchildren; one great grandchild; three sisters, Mrs. Fred H. (Madie) Schmidt, Frances Osterbuhr and Mrs. William (Esther) Popken, all of LeMars. He was preceded in death by his parents, five brothers and three sisters.
